people who get super into their company culture and identify strongly enough w that company to do weird bootlickery promos for them on their personal instagrams (for free??)) make no fucking sense to me and provoke an emotion w/in me that is equal parts sadness and revulsion
this probably sounds really judgmental but like the reason it makes me sad is bc those companies are just meaningless shells the owners use to extract wealth from the labor of their employees… and all emoyees are equally disposable when it comes to the bottom line. it’s sad to me that someone can try to anchor so much of their identity, social life, social energy, etc in something that just produces some random unnecessary commodity to generate as much wealth as possible for one or a few ppl. and then to do UNPAID labor for that uncaring entity, which is pathetic sycophantry in itself but also shitty bc it raises expectations for all employees… like… get a hobby
